

Auto insurance is basically something that protects you from going broke if you have an accident.

The reason you’re required to have auto insurance is to protect you and those sharing the road with you from being injured or suffering property damage at the hands of someone who can’t afford to pay for it. If you are caught driving without auto insurance in some areas, you could be fined, have your licensed revoked and may even be arrested.
